Round Five of Apple Games

Posted by Altered Confusion on April 11, 2008

Charms
- This is a matching game where you get to choose to swap with an adjacent piece to form lines of 3 or more of the same thing. If you read my review of bedeviled, its the same damn game just with lucky charm pieces instead. ( 3.7 out of 10 )

Ditto
- This is a memory game. You’ll be given a sequence of colors that you will have to repeat, every round will increase in difficulty as the pattern will continue with additional color presses. If you ever played “Simon” its just like that but for your Apple Product. ( 6.4 out of 10 )

WordBreaker
- A game where you select a word (hold it in your mind), and then try to guess your opponent’s word, the first to guess right wins. Once you’ve got your word the computer will ask it there are any letters in common with the word that it shows. Then you’ll get to guess a word and the computer will tell you home any letters in common yours has with its word. The game isn’t the best thing I’ve seen, and there’s a chance that with all the thinking on your part that you might lose the word that is yours. ( 2.1 out of 10 )

iKala
- This is Mankala. Its a game in which you have 12 common spots on the board, 2 rows of 6, and then 2 capture places at the end of the board. There are 48 beads, 4 in each spot to start the game. You will be able to place a bead into each spot from the spot which you start clockwise until you run out of beads if there are extra beads when you have to change rows that goes through your capture place the bead will go there first and then any additional beads will be placed. The game is played until there are no more beads on the board except for in the capture places. There is the option to play one player or two player, but it is really difficult to determine which mode you are in unless you see the red dots that appear above or below the capture place. ( 6.8 out of 10 )

Ball Blast
- Its a very simplistic game in which you are trying to tap where the balls appear on the screen before they disappear, if you can tap 20 or more you advance to the next level. Each level will increase in difficulty. ( 4.5 out of 10 )

iConnect4
- Its a Connect 4 clone, and a poor one at that. Click on the column and poof the piece is there. The whole thing looks like it was done in MSPaint. There is no start new game button either. ( 3.5 out of 10 )

Tile Game
- If you saw the Charms review or the bedeviled review then I don’t need to say anything else, it is the same game, except this time there is a timer bar at the bottom that once it is done the game is automatically over, otherwise it is yet again the same game, by the same people. ( 3.7 out of 10 )

Vidifone Poker
- Do not try this in a regular browser unless of course you like to see a progress bar go nuts. right off the bat this game is not going to fit nicely on your screen. You’re going to need to flip the screen, and on top of that it still isn’t going to quite fit. It’s a video poker game in which you need at least a jack or better to gain your bid back or more. ( 4.7 out of 10 )

iSudoku
- This is a computerized version of sudoku. You’ll be given the choice of an easy, medium or hard game. The object of sudoku is to use each number 1-9 once in a 3 by 3 grid as well as in the entire row or column of the puzzle, they don’t have to be in order. You’ll be able to click on the spot where you’d like to place a number and then a number pad will pop up for you. ( 7.8 out of 10 )

Mahjong
- This is a game where you are trying to remove matches of the same tile. You can only use ‘free’ tiles and it is common not to be able to finish the game. You can change the tiles to different styles though the pattern stays the same. You start the game off with 144 tiles on the board. ( 5.2 out of 10 )

Cupid 3
- This is a platformer game where you have to successfully get Cupid through each level. You’ll be using the arrows and buttons at the bottom of the screen to move him around. If you play in a regular browser you’ll see that the game is running extremely fast. The controls really don’t work like you’d want them too. ( 5.6 out of 10 )

Drop the 99 Bottles of beer on the Wall
- This is a game in which you try to select sections of the same type of bottle to remove them from the “wall” if you remove all 99 of them you win. ( 3.9 out of 10 )

Belighted
- Charms, Bedeviled, Tile Game, and now belighted. There is once again no timer but the game play is the same… thanx 38i.biz ( 3.7 out of 10 )

5 Card Draw Poker
- Its a computerized version of the card game. You can bet in increments of 5, 10, 20, or 50. You bet a round then get your cards, then click on the cards you don’t want, then SWAP, then bet again, and then show your cards. ( 6.5 out of 10 )

mobiChess
- Trying to play it strictly with a regular browser isn’t going to work. Its your standard chess game where you’ll be playing as white. There are different difficulty settings as well. ( 7.2 out of 10 )
