Call of Duty 3
is another WWII first person shooter game where you’ll be playing as different soldiers in different national armies. You will find you’re going to be battling the Germans at every turn. You will have to find away to take control of a house, of a compound, blow up stuff, drive a tank, place a bomb, snipe the enemy, use smoke bombs to mask your movements.
The graphics I want to say look great, but to be honest they are some times bland, and as a result you’re just going to have to look past the graphics and just play through the game. The models aren’t too bad, but it doesn’t look like they were very polished. If I remember correctly this game came out really quickly after the second game in the series came out so I don’t think there were many changes done to it.
The controls are easy to pick up if you’ve played First person shooters. My problem is constantly forgetting which is the smoke grenade and which is the frag grenade button.
If you are a WWII buff, and you like first person shooters this game is a decent addition to your collect, but if you are looking for crazy action packed first person action, this game isn’t going to satisfy your craving. 7.6 out of 10

I never thought it possible for a first person shooter to have an impact near the magnitude of the Halo series, and not be involved with Halo. Gears Of War
is a first person shooter where you’ll be taking on the role of Marcus a war hero that was jailed for going against orders in a previous war. You are broken out of jail to help the fight that rages with the Locust. The Locust have plenty of nasty surprises up their sleeves and there will be times when you’ll have to strafe, take cover, throw grenades, or maybe even sacrifice yourself (if you’re playing co-op) to make it to the end of the game.
The graphics are breath-taking. You’re going to be able to see what the Unreal 3 Engine can really do. You’ll definitely get lost in some of the gritty beauty that is this game. The character modes are awesome and very detailed, and the different Locust are definitely something to admire ( well quickly because they’ll put a bullet through you, or eat you if you just stop and stare).
The controls take a bit of time to get use to but running through the first level of the game should suffice as you’ll be taught the controls. I will tell you this though get ready to use if not the whole controller, most of it.
The gameplay is solid, the only grip I have about the game is that there are some bosses that you’ll have to use some trial and error, and possibly die a couple of times before you find out how to kill them. The multiplayer may not have the very structure seating system that Halo has, but it is a lot of fun. 8.7 out of 10
