Age of Conan to have Fewer Servers
Posted by Altered Confusion on January 12, 2009

Funcom has released that they will be shutting down a good chunk of the servers for Age of Conan in an effort to make servers more crowded, and to allow users a better experience. How many servers you ask? Well let me tell you. They started out with 49 servers and they will be shutting all but 18 down.
This game never peaked my interest, and apparently it hasn’t for many people. There are some out there, and it looks like the game isn’t completely going to pull a Tabula Rasa, but this plan does not speak well of the game’s future. From what I’ve been hearing the game, once the novelty wore off, just couldn’t really compete or distinguish itself enough from the other MMOs out there.
If there are Age of Conan players that read this site, who really like it, I hope that the game sticks around, but I really don’t like the odds that Funcom is displaying right now.

This is a really amazing MMO! I play it like 24/7 and never get tired of it! I actually think it is not possible to be bored. This game FTW!

Interesting, I have to say personally that I haven’t heard of many people playing this game. I’m sure its solid, but it might be one of those games that goes unnoticed by most because I’m sure you really need to put your heart and soul into it in order to get locked in. Personally I’ve still not found that type of game, but glad to hear that you’ve found your’s, it would appear.
