Apple I-Touch: I Am Rich Review

Posted by Altered Confusion on August 8, 2008

So apparently there was this app that was on the Apple I-Tunes Application store called I Am Rich. It is a completely useless application that basically shows that you are indeed rich.

The application in its entirety is a red glowing gem that sits on your screen. The pricetag for said application was $999.99, the highest price you could set for an application on Apple’s site.

The truly remarkable thing is that a total of 8 people actually downloaded it. Which means that the sole programmer got to walk away with $5600 (70% of the profits), 30% of the profits goes to Apple who walked away with $2400.

As to why the application was pulled by Apple, that is still a mystery, but as to the reason why it was made the programmer says “The App is a work of Art” so I’m guessing he saw it as like selling a painting or something along those lines.

0.2 out of 10 for the Application
10 out of 10 for originality and getting away with it for the programmer.

Apple I-Touch: Crazy Mouth Lite Review

Posted by Altered Confusion on August 8, 2008

Crazy Mouth Lite, ummm… where do I even begin. In the free version, well I’m guessing there is another version because of the Lite, but anyways in the free version you have two faces that when you tap them you either get a giggling oaf, or a very annoying whistler.

I’m not exactly sure what this is suppose to do for me besides give me a headache (thanks whistler). I’m guessing that its for entertainment purposes maybe if you had your i-pod/phone attached to some speakers you could get some interesting looks or freak some people out, but when you’re just doing it over earphones I really don’t see the point. 1.5 out of 10.

Oh wait I get it now I’m suppose to somehow have it hooked up to speakers and then turn the i-pod/phone away from me place the device over my mouth and hilarity is suppose to ensue.

Apple I-Touch: Tunnels Review

Posted by Altered Confusion on August 8, 2008

Tunnels is a free game that you can put on your touch/i-phone and I have to say that its a good thing that it is free. I have to say that I’m not very impressed by this game. The object of the game is to push or hold the left and right arrows on the sides of the screen to navigate I’m guessing a ship through a very narrow tunnel. The problem is that even the Easy setting is almost near impossible unless you are really willing to sit down and master the timing it takes to avoid the changes in path.

I’m sure that some will find this game entertaining, but when I see this game I think of it as a poor man’s Cube Runner. 4.6 out of 10.

Sierra Entertainment to fade into the Sunset

Posted by Altered Confusion on August 8, 2008

A studio that has been around my entire life has apparently been given the nod to fade into oblivion as the Blizzard Activision merger seems to sink in. Sierra Entertainment, Inc., a studio that brought us the highly popular series of Kings Quest, Space Quest, Police Quest, Quest for Glory, Leisure Suit Larry, and so many many more is apparently done ending on what many will see as a sour note as their last release The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon King which is probably not going to do all that well.

I have so many fond memories of sitting in my dad’s lap trying to help him navigate Roger Wilco (Space Quest) around many different worlds trying to save in the universe, and also trying to beat the game before some family friends. Those where the good old days, and they sadly are gone.

I have to say that as of late I did feel like Sierra had been putting itself into a more of a publishing role, but the games that they created will not be forgotten, at least not by me.

PlayStation Home Beta opens to the US

Posted by Altered Confusion on August 8, 2008

PlayStation Home has openned up its Beta to the US. If you are interested in applying to see if you could be a part of the Beta experience follow these very tricky steps.

1. Turn on PlayStation3
2. Go To PlayStation Store (on the TV, not the actual store, geez)
3. Find the PlayStation Home Theme
4. Download that Theme
5. After the theme has finished downloading play lots of games.
6. Be on the look out to see if you were chosen

I know that this might be too difficult for some, but I have faith in my readers as you have magically found my website and are now reading this article.

I personally will have to step up the playing of games on the PlayStation, though I think the majority of the games will probably PS2 games as I’m still not 100% impressed with the current game line up but I may fall victim to picking up SoulCaliber IV, but that is yet to be seen.
