Gears of War 2: Update

Just a quick update on the Gears of War status, as I’m sure everyone knows this game, a sequel to a game that surprised quite a few players, is coming into gamers open arms on November 7, 2008 with at least a $60 price tag, if you are willing to pony up an extra $20 you can get the Limited Edition. The LE comes with a couple of goodies that hardcore fans will want to get their hands on.

• Collectible SteelBook™ DVD case
• “Beneath the Surface: An Inside Look at Gears of War 2,” a 48-page hardbound book including character profiles, exclusive concept art, and foreword by Design Director Cliff Bleszinski
• Bonus DVD including exclusive making-of-the-game video footage, design galleries with audio commentary by Epic Games, and promotional videos including the E3 2008 trailer
• “Rendezvous.” An exclusive gold-plated Lancer Assault Rifle available during online play

Now I personally have the LE or CE whatever it was for the first one so I wouldn’t be surprised if I pony up the extra cash again this time to get some more goodies. I do like the fact that just like a bunch of MMO deals, when you pay extra, you get a status symbol that others will see as you are burying them online. I mean playing nicely blowing off their heads. No wait that’s wrong too, oh hell, when you see an opponent or a teammate online they’ll be able to gaze upon you in all your glory with your gold plated gun.
