There is a new Nintendo DS and DSi is its Name

Ladies and Gentlemen I’d like to introduce you to the DSi the latest and greatest of the Nintendo DSs. Let’s jump right into the specs, and my opinions later.
According to sources the device will be 12 percent thinner, with have two built in cameras, music playing, a SD card slot (for expandable memory), a slightly larger screen, no GBA slot (WTF?!?), a free web browsing application, and the ability to sync all your pictures taken with the device to the Wii Photo Channel.
This device is set to release November 1 in black and white colors. The reported price to get your hands on one is somewhere in the ballpark of $178.
Well I have to say that I’m excited that there truly was a new DS, I do have to say that it’s not the most attractive looking thing I’ve ever seen, but that’s ok. I wonder how durable the unit is going to be. I seem to have problems being gentle when it comes to my electronics. I get scratches and all sorts of stuff on them. Getting rid of the GBA slot sucks balls, now if I want to get one of these and still play my GBA games I’m going to either have to pull out the GBA SP that is hiding somewhere at my place, or I’m going to have to keep my original DS in addition to the new one. I’m also interested in seeing what the OS is going to look like on the DS when there isn’t a game in there, and also what the limits are on the expandable memory.
Well here’s hoping that the DSi can kick some ass and that when it goes stateside its an item that can actually be found, unlike Nintendo’s other system. Also lets hope that different colors are introduced rather quickly too, I need a red one.
