Anomaly: Warzone Earth Review

Posted by Altered Confusion on May 2, 2011

After player Defense Grid: The Awakening, fellow Altered Confusioner Charlie sent me a Steam link to another game: Anomaly: Warzone Earth by 11 bit studios. For only $10, I figured why not try it out for what amounts to 2 swanky coffee drinks? After loading the game and finding out that Earth has had 2 objects fall to the ground, an elite military group is tasked with finding out what’s happened by any means necessary, I was intrigued. And thus the reverse-defense grid fun starts.

Dragon Age II Review

Posted by Altered Confusion on April 11, 2011

Dragon Age puts you back in the lands of the first game, sadly that’s where the majority of the involvement of the first stops. You will be playing the character of the Champion, reliving the moments that gained you that title. You will have to face a threatening force and factions that unchecked could destroy the fragile balance of the city.

Defense Grid: The Awakening

Posted by Altered Confusion on April 11, 2011

I saw the game Defense Grid: The Awakening on sale the other day for around 400 Microsoft points, so I figured for $5, why not?  After all, I’ve spent enough hours player the classic Desktop Tower Defense and other random defense tower games over at Kongregate that I figured, hey it’s only $5 and having hi-def graphics on the xbox360 might make things interesting.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Review

Posted by Altered Confusion on April 11, 2011

Marvel vs. Capcom is one of those cross over fighting franchises that make certain gamers salivate. You will have your choice of 3 characters to go up against another team of 3 characters. If you can master the moves, as well as master when to bring a different character in, you could find yourself a champion. Now as with most fighting games, there’s not a whole lot to the story portion of the game. Yes, Galactus is trying to consume your world, and you’re going to need to defeat all the fighters between you and him, but other than that, its basically knock out your opponent with skill.

Azkend Review

Posted by Altered Confusion on March 23, 2011

Azkend is a puzzle game for the Apple iPod/iPhone/iPad in which you will follow a path through a mountainous region solving puzzles as you go. In the basic sense you’ll be charged with trying to play a matching game with hex shaped pieces. Your objective is to turn all the hexes blue and then have the item that will appear fall off the bottom of the level, do that and you can advance. Do that really well and you’ll gain a star rating for the level.

GAME.minder Review

Posted by Altered Confusion on March 21, 2011

GAME.minder is an application that you can use on on your i-pod touch, i-pad, or i-phone. This wonderful little app will tap you into the world of release dates, for video games, and stay ahead of the curve. The best part about this application is the fact that you can specify what systems you’re interested in knowing reviews for. An even better piece about this app is that its free and it comes to us through the company Handelabra Studio.

Slam Bolt Scrappers Review

Posted by Altered Confusion on March 21, 2011

I got the chance to see this game in action at PAX East and I have to admit I didn’t get a chance to play it but I was intrigued. So I’ve downloaded it to the PlayStation Network and given it a spin. The best way to describe this game is a battle block building game. The object of the game is to collect blocks of the same color and make squares with them to create weapons that will attack the opponents weapons.

BioShock 2 Review

Posted by Altered Confusion on March 21, 2011

I literally played BioShock and BioShock back to back so my experience in Rapture was both fresh in my mind and confusing. In BioShock 2 you are one of the first Big Daddys named Delta. You have awoken from your slumber on a mission to find the little sister that you were paired with. You’ll have to go all through Rapture to find her, but you’ll have to try to stop the minions of Sophia Lamb, a person who was apparently still running things in Rapture after Atlas and Andrew Ryan met their bitter end.
